Why goat's milk?

Why goat's milk?

Now that you know what goats eat (go read all about it here if you missed it), lets talk about why goat's milk is so great.

Goat's milk contains over 17 vitamins and minerals, alpha-hydroxy acid (AHA), amino acids, proteins and fatty acids. Vitamins A & C protect and nourish skin, AHA resurfaces and smooths skin, amino acids support a healthy skin barrier and proteins and fatty acids minimize fine lines and wrinkles while hydrating skin.

When used in soap, goat's milk is added to the sodium hydroxide (lye) portion of the recipe in place of water then mixed with the oils. The result is a gentle, moisturizing soap.

The natural fats and proteins in goat's milk moisturize and nourish the skin, which is particularly beneficial for individuals with dry or dehydrated skin since it helps retain moisture and prevent excessive dryness.

Goat's milk contains essential vitamins like A, B2, B3, B6, B12, & C to name a few and minerals like selenium and zinc that support skin health and promote a healthy complexion. Alpha Hydroxy Acids or AHAs contained in goat's milk gently exfoliate by removing dead skins cells. This can create a smoother and more radiant complextion.

Goat's milk soap is considered to have a pH level closer to that of human skin, which helps maintain the skin's natural acid mantle and support a heathly skin barrier.
